Living Lights

Living Lights was our first full solar installation for the UK. Living Lights only had one external sign lit along the main road. During a building renovation project the option to illuminate more signage and parking spaces was seen as paramount, however, the cost of running mains power around the building and installing sign lights was extremely expensive to do.

After reviewing the total project it soon became very clear that Solar Lighting was the clear option in reduction not only installation costs but the future running costs. We utilised a range of our products to light the signs, path areas, entrances, car parking and even security, reducing the total project cost by 50%, but also giving Living Lights the opportunity to market as a sustainable business and reduce their carbon impact, while saving money on monthly costs.

If the original sign lighting was used to offer the same light as the current Solar set up we would estimate the yearly cost to run would be in excess of £1500 per year, meaning the total project will be paid back to the business in as little as two and a half years! And needless to say once this project was completed in July 2021 the immediate impact was noticeable.

We monitored the products throughout the winter months to gauge a wider understanding of performance, we were pleased to say that even on 21st December 2021 our Split Solar Street Light was showing 80%+ Charge and every item stayed lit throughout the winter, even including the very dark and rainy spell that we had from Christmas to New Years.

Solar lighting has so many benefits to businesses, house builders, councils and even home-owners such as;

How come this is the first that you are hearing about it? we hear you ask. Well solar was mainly used in the domestic lighting sector and was given a bad name by cheap solar panels and batteries. Since the introduction of EV vehicles battery efficiency has jumper significantly as has the technology now used to hold the energy, this combined with the introduction of the latest LED chips offering 190 lumens per watt and an increased efficiency from the latest monocrystalline solar panels has enabled us to produce a wide range of products which are capable of operating in the most adverse weather.

We have a wide range of products and understanding of the UK’s solar radiation patterns to ensure that we can offer you a product suited to your needs. Our team of industry specialists can also specify customisable products to ensure that your needs are met.
