The main factor to consider is anything that may obstruct the sunlight reaching the panel, such as tall buildings, and foliage.
Yes, solar lights can be fitted anywhere (almost), with fittings being able to withstand extreme temperatures low and high, self-cleaning solar panels, and durable overall build quality, there are almost no areas where quality solar light fixtures can’t be installed.
Yes, when it is dark the photocell detects little to no light, which activates the light to turn on, solar lights also often come with a motion sensor setting which will only activate the light when there is movement nearby.
Yes, solar lights do work during the winter months, with new technologies such as ALS, this essentially reduces output to a reasonable level of illumination during the night when the battery is beginning to run low, preserving energy during low sunlight periods. Some settings increase the lighting output to maximum when the motion sensor is triggered and after a while, it then returns to a lower level.
Many of our solar lights are rated IK10 impact-resistant, IP65 water-resistant, anti-corrosive, as well as operational in temperatures from -20°C to +60°C. The combination of these specifications allows for a product that can be used in almost any environment.
